ecosource Home & Garden is excited to introduce an environmentally friendly alternative to plastic gardening containers. These all-natural rice hull pots are perfect for any home or garden since they:

are made from rice hulls, a natural by-product of renewable and sustainable crops
contain no harmful chemical or petroleum ingredients
deplete no natural resources
naturally breakdown to easily decompose in landfills or into the earth
can even be composted to complete the circle of life and re-nourish the earth

Strong, durable and lightweight, these eco pots are ideal for plants that need to be moved often, and last five years under average conditions. Even when exposed to constant high humidity, the water resistant surface will remain clean and smooth.

Not all colors are available for every season, so place your orders early to ensure that you can customize your range.

Saucers: Our greenPots line comes drilled with multiple holes for excellent drainage and root health. Matching saucers come with all pots. They are water tight and will protect fine wood surfaces from damage.

Commercial Nursery Pots grower pot

For nurseries and serious growers we carry a series of specially formulated biodegradable growing pots that are suitable for larger scale production. These pots are professionally designed to work with most commercial pot handling and watering systems. Color options are available to help with your brand differentiation.

Manufacturing Process

Our eco pots are made from grain husks (primarily rice hulls) and natural binding agents (starch based, water soluble binders and biodegradable additives). No pollutants are used or produced at any stage of the manufacturing process. There are no wasted materials because scraps are recycled back into the production process. Only a small amount of water is used in the binding formula along with safe and environmentally friendly organic pigments. A combination of heat and pressure is used to cement the ingredients together to produce a beautiful, durable, guilt-free pot.

Biodegradation Information

Our eco pots will keep their shape and clean surface until the end of their functional life. Only after they have been discarded into a commercial or municipal landfill facility will decomposition take place. They then break down into nutrient-rich organic matter with a PH value of 7.0.

coir

coir™ pots

In response to huge customer demand for eco-friendly pots with larger profiles, we’ve developed coir™. This unique product, which is exclusive to ecosource Home & Garden, is made from coconut fiber and natural rubber.

Re-purposing is a big part of sustainability. So, we’ve taken a familiar gardening product and re-purposed it. By thickening the wall and reinforcing it with a natural, biodegradable latex, we’ve created a beautiful planter series with modern lines.

For now, we offer this line in a rich chocolate brown in a variety of shapes and sizes.

eco-elegance

grēnware is a perfect marriage between ecology and design. The result is a chic tabletop priced for everyday living.

grēnware is made primarily with renewable plant fiber from bamboo, straw and rice hulls. There are no dyes involved. The colors are derived from the natural materials, such as coconut shell and rice hulls, to create beautiful table settings.

This line is intended to last up to five years and then can be discarded or composted. When you’re ready for something new, simply break it and throw it away without guilt. In proper conditions it will biodegrade in as little as 4 months.

This is not your momma’s melamine! The line contains no petroleum or plastic, making it both food safe and also completely eco-friendly.

Strong enough for picnics or poolside casual meals, yet elegant enough for white tablecloth dining.

In addition to being earth-friendly, grēnware is actually dishwasher safe. However, as with glass and plastic, etching may occur and the product life span may be somewhat shortened with regular dishwasher use. (Not recommended for oven or microwave.)
